Bob Abrams

Bob Abrams has been working in science education since 1998. He began teaching at Bloomington High School as a biology and honors biology teacher. While working at Bloomington, Bob earned his Master's degree in education administration and his type 75 administrative certificate. Bob has taught chemistry and advanced biology in other schools where he has been employed.

In 2006, Bob began teaching at Rich East High School and, after a year, became the Instructional Leader for Science. While at Rich East, Bob successfully wrote for the Enhancing Education Through Technology grant and Rich East was awarded $830,000 to infuse technology into instruction. Within the Rich Township High Schools, Bob has also been an Associate Principal for Operations and currently serves in the district office as the Coordinator for Data, Assessment, and Grants.

Outside of the classroom and school, Bob has served on ISBE's biology certification exam committee, presented at multiple local and state conferences, provided professional development at multiple school districts on technology integration for both teachers and administrators, and is one of the moderators for Illinois Ed Chat (#iledchat) on Twitter every Monday night at 9 pm.

Bob holds a bachelor's from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the teaching of Biology, a master's degree from Illinois State University in Education Administration, and is currently in a doctoral program with ISU.

Bob, his wife Lorelei, and 3 children, live in New Lenox.
